Family-Friendly & Alcohol-Free Venue

Rural Farming Museum With Ties to Local Industry

Fully Restored Community General Store

PRESERVING THE HISTORY OF SIMPLER TIMES

Owners Dee and Randy Simmons started their new event venue with a mission. They saw all the old hand plows, buggies, wagons, and tractors that Randy’s dad had restored during his illness. They set out to erect a museum in his honor that showcases the beauty of rural life, and it has become far more than they ever dreamed. Randy began building the museum in 2018, and now, it has become a family-friendly place where the community and neighbors come together to remember days of old and to make new friends.

THE PERFECT SPOT FOR EVERY EVENT

Our heart desire is to see Simmons Farm Museum continue to become a family-friendly, alcohol-free venue where families can safely bring their children for a fun day at the farm. We want our event venue to be a place where today’s families can learn about farming in Caswell County as it was in years past and in the present. Our museum is also open for special events such as concerts, birthday parties, anniversaries, church events, and even weddings.

A CLASSIC GENERAL STORE

The E. V. Rainey Store opened in 1945. Joe Rainey ran it for a year, and then his brother, Ed, and his wife, Lessie, took over management. It quickly became the meeting place for the farmers and travelers in Caswell County. Even to this day, neighbors come by and reminisce about memories they have of when the store was open. Ed and Lessie Rainey closed the store in 1973. Randy’s father, O.E. Simmons, Jr. purchased the lot and store in the 1990s with the hope of restoring it, but he passed away before ever seeing that come to be. Randy and Dee began restoring the store in 2016 and have it open on weekends and during special events. Come by and visit an old country store from 1945.
